Natalia Grace, a Ukrainian girl, was accused of posing as a 6-year-old orphan who was adopted and then abandoned by Michael and Kristine Barnett. Over the past few years, Natalia’s case has sparked much discussion and debate.
The debates mainly focus on Natalia’s age and whether she cheated on her adoptive parents or is a victim. The duo accused Natalia, who suffers from a form of dwarfism called spondyloepiphyseal, of being an adult. Michael and Christine Barnett also claimed that Natalia was an adult woman with sinister intentions. The couple allegedly abandoned her and claimed Natalia was a scammer who tried to harm their family.
Despite the legal change in Natalia’s age from 6 to 22, Michael and Christine encountered problems that followed them. In September 2019, authorities accused the couple of neglect after moving to Canada without Natalia. The trial subjected Michael to legal action and ultimately, a not guilty verdict was returned. But where is Natalia Grace now? Has she found a family to live with? We’ll take a look.
