WhatsApp rolls out email verification feature with latest iOS app update

The recent development in this regard is the widespread rollout of an email verification feature, a move previously teased by the Meta-owned app.

As reported WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently offering an update that allows users to link their accounts to an email address. This feature, which allows users to verify their accounts via email rather than SMS, was initially tested in beta and is now rolling out to all iOS users.

Update 23.24.70 for iOS is now available in the App Store, and while the official changelog doesn’t provide detailed information on the new features included, it appears that WhatsApp is widely rolling out the Checker feature. emails.

It is essential to note that this option does not replace SMS verification but is an alternative. This can be useful in scenarios where users are for example in areas without cellular coverage and still need to log into their WhatsApp accounts.

To add an email address to your account, go to the Your Profile tab, select the Account menu and tap Email Address. WhatsApp emphasizes that the email address provided is only used to access the account and remains invisible to other users.

For users who have not yet received the feature, accounts are expected to gradually receive the update over the coming weeks. The Email Verification feature is currently available to iOS users who install the latest WhatsApp update from the App Store.
