The Last Of Us Season 2 Production Start Date Revealed

HBO’s The Last of Us is returning for a second season, and we now know when production could potentially begin. According to Production List, filming for season 2 will begin in Vancouver next January. Specifically, the page states that cameras will start rolling on January 7, 2024.

This start date is not a surprise. After all, HBO boss Casey Bloys has said that season 2 will begin filming in early 2024. As for when The Last of Us season 2 might debut, it’s not expected to arrive until 2025 at the most early, so fans should feel comfortable.

The Last of Us TV show, based on the Naughty Dog game series, debuted in January 2023 and became a quick hit. It didn’t take long for HBO to greenlight a second season. The Hollywood writer and actor’s strikes, however, put a brake on work. These strikes are now over and Craig Mazine and Neil Druckmann can get started on their plans for season 2.

Another major HBO show expected to return is House of the Dragon. Its second season is scheduled to debut in summer 2024. This series did not suspend production during the Hollywood strikes and remained on schedule.

As for the Last of Us game series, Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us multiplayer game has been put “on ice,” according to a report. Naughty Dog has also discussed the possibility of making The Last of Us: Part III, but the game has not yet been announced.
