The Fall Guy Takes Old Deadpool 3 Release Date After Delay

Universal Pictures has delayed The Fall Guy by a few months, as the action film will now be released on May 3, 2024. Previously, the film starring Ryan Gosling as a stuntman was scheduled to release on March 1.

Variety notes that this new release date for The Fall Guy was previously held by Deadpool 3. Marvel Studios pushed that sequel back to July 26, while delaying Captain America 4, Thunderbolts, and Blade.

Gosling stars in The Fall Guy as Colt Seavers, a character who goes from on-set stunts to death-defying moves around the world as he searches for a missing Hollywood star. Emily Blunt plays director Judy Moreno, who has a romantic past with Colt. They are joined by a cast including Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train), Stephanie Hsu (Everything, Everywhere, All At Once), Winston Duke (Black Panther) and Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso).

The first trailer for The Fall Guy showed Gosling becoming a real stuntman and even having a drink with a dog at one point. Director David Leitch seems to want to balance action and comedy in the film, something he already did when he directed Bullet Train.

Based on a 1980s TV show, Universal previously showed the first footage of The Fall Guy at CinemaCon in April.
