“I wasn’t very good at having all that stuff locked up inside me…” MetFilm Distribution has released the trailer for Ronnie: the edge of everythinga documentary film about a sports legend named Ronnie O’Sullivan. Only some will recognize his name, as he is best known as a champion of the game of snooker (similar to billiards) and was famous in the 1990s. Facing the end of a very successful but turbulent career, snooker legend Ronnie O’ Sullivan finally keeps the game at arm’s length. However, during a season leading up to a career-defining tournament, and triggered by memories from the past, he finds himself once again in the intense grip of the sport. Produced by David Beckham’s Studio 99 and directed by Sam Blair, it’s a film that pushes the boundaries of sports biographies, a complex and sophisticated story of a man wrestling with his talent and his demons. Even if you don’t know much about snooker or who this guy is, it still seems fascinating – another look at the tumult of a famous professional life. Check it out below.
