Bangladeshi writer and poet Taslima Nasrin has slammed people in her country for celebrating India’s defeat in the recently concluded 50-over Cricket World Cup final.
India lost to Australia by six wickets in the final after remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament, winning 10 matches on the trot. India’s defeat was met with joyous celebration by a large section of Bangladeshi cricket fans.
“Young Muslims in Bangladesh are happy because India lost the World Cup. Why are they so anti-Indian when India liberated their country and they depend on India for almost everything, healthcare, entertainment, clothing, beef, onion, etc.? ? Governments encourage them to practice Islam, they do it and automatically become anti-Hindu,” Taslima Nasrin said in a post on social media platform X.
