The very popular K-pop boy band Stray children has been making waves all over the world with his music. The eight-member Korean boy group, including Bang Chan, Changbin, Lee Know, Hyunjin, Felix, Han, IN and Seungmin, has now made history by landing on the Billboard Hot 100 list.
On November 20, 2023, Billboard stated that Stray Kids’ latest title track, LALALALAtaken from their 2023 album, ROCK-STAR, ranked at number 90 on Billboard’s weekly chart of the most popular songs in the United States. It marks the boy band’s official debut on the Billboard Hot 100. This feat also makes them the 2nd K-pop boy group to join Billboard’s Hot 100 after BTS.
Stray Kids becomes the first 4th generation K-pop boy group to enter the Billboard Hot 100
Entering the Billboard Hot 100 list is undoubtedly a milestone in Stray Kids’ career, as they are the first 4th generation Korean boy band to achieve this milestone. Additionally, on November 25, 2023, their track LALALALA took 10th place on the Global 200 chart and was ranked #6 on Billboard’s Global Excl. American list.
Previously, their mini album, ROCK-STAR, landed at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, making it their 4th consecutive album to reach No. 1 on the list after their other three albums, ODDINARY, MAXIDENT and 5-. STAR. It is notable that Stray Kids is the first boy group to have all four albums debut at the top of the Billboard 200 in sixteen years. They are also the first K-pop group to achieve this feat.
Additionally, it took them less than twenty months to achieve four No. 1 albums, making them the fastest artist to achieve this position, after Taylor Swift. Recently, the group took the 2023 Billboard Music Awards stage by storm with their performances on their hit songs LALALALA and S-Class. They also won Best K-pop Album for 5 Stars.
