Scott Pilgrim Season 2 Not Currently in the Works, Creators Say

If you are a fan of those of Netflix Scott Pilgrim takes offas we are, don’t hold your breath for a second season. While the creators of the series don’t think it’s completely irrelevant, a second season was never part of the plan and this is still not the case.

“He is autonomous for the moment” Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley said rolling stone. “We loved what we did. We put everything in there. We have no idea who’s lying around. We have practically all of them integrated. I never say never, but right now it seems like it would take about 50 different miracles simultaneously for another season to happen. So we’ll see.

“We’re not working on it,” added series creator BenDavid Grabinski. “We have no official ideas. We put everything we had into it and we think the ending is really awesome and something we’re proud of. I don’t usually do any projects. Maybe one day one of us will text each other a really cool idea for a season two. But for now, my whole brain and heart are in this thing and I’m just putting it out into the world.

This might be disappointing for some fans given that the series ends with a brief mid-credit scene teasing Gideon (Jason Schwartzman) and Julie’s (Aubrey Plaza) future plans. But the series is also pretty clear about these characters. No matter what happens, they will always be pretty grim. As far as Scott, Ramona and the exes’ story goes, things end pretty well, and that was always the goal.

“People always complain about how shows get canceled after one season,” O’Malley said. “So we immediately hedged our bets and tried to have a self-sustaining season.” “Everything we set up emotionally and thematically in this season is finished,” Grabinski added.

But you know, anything is possible.
