Ryan Phillippe to direct Prime video drama

According to Deadline, Prime Video has officially awarded a series order for the upcoming drama titled Power heads, with Cruel Intentions star Ryan Phillippe attached to play the lead role. He will be joined by Nathalie Kelley (The Baker and the Lady), Michael Cimino (Love, Victor) and Melissa Collazo (One Of Us Is Lying), who have been tapped as series regulars.

Below are the official character descriptions for Phillippe, Kelley, Cimino, and Collazo:

  • Phillippe’s Logan is a former NASCAR mechanic who now owns an auto body shop in his hometown of Ironwood, Pennsylvania. Logan struggles to keep his store afloat and lives in the shadow of his infamous brother, Christian Maddox.
  • Kelley’s Samantha is an emergency room nurse who just left her job in New York to move back with her children to her rust belt hometown.
  • Cimino’s Zac knows his father was a street racing legend in Ironwood and is desperately trying to live up to his father’s reputation as the best there ever was.
  • Caitlyn de Collazo is Zac’s sister and an expert mechanic who is passionate about cars and knows how to fix them. Caitlyn hopes moving to her parents’ hometown will help her get clues into their father’s disappearance.

What to expect in Motorheads?

Motorheads will be written and executive produced by showrunner John A. Norris, with Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) set to direct the pilot. Executive producers are Jason Seagraves, Jake Fuller, Dana Brunetti, Keegan Rosenberger and Ryan Zaragoza. It is a co-production of Jax Media and Amazon MGM Studios.

“The series is about first love, first heartbreak, and turning the key to your very first car,” the synopsis reads. “Set in a once-prosperous Rust Belt town now searching for a glimmer of hope, the series is the adrenaline-filled story of a group of strangers who form an unlikely friendship around a mutual love for the automobile. And while some characters will evolve within the hierarchy and rules of high school, others will come from a dark past. »
