Modern Warfare 3 Gaia skin is temporarily removed

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 players rejoice, as Sledgehammer Games has announced that they will be temporarily disabling the infamous Gaia Operator outfit, known in the community as the “Groot” skin, so they can make some changes.

In a recent Reddit AMA, the developer stated that “adjustments” for this outfit were “in progress.” In response to a user asking what the studio’s plans were regarding the “issues (the skin) was brought forward (Modern Warfare 3) Since (Modern Warfare 2),” he responded, confirming that the fixes were incoming and that the Gaia and Gaia Blackcell Operator skins will be disabled in a future update until the changes are ready to roll out.

The Gaia / “Groot” skin has been tormented Modern Warfare 2 players since its launch in late September alongside Season 6. Although it closely resembles the tree-like creature in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, it is billed as “an earthly form of Mother Nature herself” . It seems that the major problem most players have with this skin is that, due to the nature of a pile of tree branches, the camouflage allowed it to blend into the background. Also well with its environment.

The alternate skin for Nova was adjusted in an October 11 patch that “added visual effects to the base skin that reflect the same level of visibility as the BlackCell skin” and “improved visibility compensation”, but some fans do not are not satisfied. Since the skin took the leap Modern Warfare 3, fans took to Reddit to accuse the skin of being paid and question why it hasn’t been patched yet. I hope the Sledgehammer Games team gives this skin a complete overhaul and eases players’ concerns. Because I think the skin looks really neat – if only it couldn’t be broken on a fundamental level.
