However, like many other celebrities, did you know that Akshay Kumar also came from a humble background? In a recent interview with YEARS, THE Khiladi of Bollywood spoke about his early wrestling days.
Speaking to the news agency, Akshay Kumar revealed that when his family moved from Delhi’s Chandni Chowk to Mumbai, they used to stay in a small room with a rent of Rs 100. “We were 24 people living in the same house in Chandni Chowk. . We would all sleep in the same room. In the morning, when we woke up to exercise, everyone was jumping on each other to go out,” he said.
Akshay added that he started living in Mumbai’s Sion Koliwada area when he first landed in the city with his family. “I swear to God there wasn’t a day we didn’t smile or laugh. Now that we have money, we sometimes feel sad. However, at that time, there was nothing to be sad about. We would have dal chawal, jeera aloo, aloo gobi, bhindi and we were happy,” he said.
