WandaVision—the very first Marvel series to be released on Disney+, all this in January 2021– finally gets a stylish home release. Well timed, now this series co-star Teyonah Parris is currently featured in WondersAnd WandaVision spin off Agatha: Darkhold Journals waiting in the wings.
THE Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD comes with the full nine-episode series, of course, plus a ton of extras, all the better to entice fans who are wondering why they need a home release of a show that’s still available on Disney+ ( hey, even in the streaming era, nothing is guaranteed in this department). io9 has a clip of one of the bonus features showcasing creator of the series Jac Schafferin which she discusses her approach to writing for some of the most famous characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“The space that I’ve been very comfortable occupying in the MCU is emotion and character first and spectacle second. I really enjoy putting my energy and artistic strength into unusual scenarios and settings,” says Schaeffer. The clip shows her discussing what sitcoms mean to viewers with her writing team, as well as how WandaVision fits into this genre. She also praises the limited series format, especially as someone who was considering a more film-oriented career: “I liken it to a classic comic book series, to really sit down with the characters of the story. »
