Ming-Chi Kuo backed up his previous report that Apple would install a quad-reflective zoom camera in next year’s smaller iPhone 16 Pro. According to its report, Largan will be the sole supplier of the quad-reflective camera for Apple and managed to increase its production yield in 3Q23 from 40% to 70%.
This increase will make the lens assembly business profitable in 2024 and will also ensure that Apple’s Pro line is just as good. Shipments of iPhones equipped with a quad-reflector camera are expected to grow approximately 160% annually.
Kuo also hints that Huawei will be a big customer for Largan’s zoom cameras in 2024, naming it as the other fastest-growing brand in terms of demand for periscopes, alongside Apple.
Its report states that the P70, P70 Pro and P70 Art models will be mass-produced in the first half of 2024 and will be equipped with periscope cameras and internal Kirin chips. Kuo notes that the P70 series will see 100% year-over-year shipment growth compared to the P60.
