Bungie has announced the next crossover event in Destiny 2, and it will see cosmetics inspired by Geralt of Rivia from CD Projekt’s The Witcher series coming to the sci-fi FPS.
Players can dress up their Destiny 2 character with new armor ornaments, a Ghost Shell, a ship, a Sparrow, an emote, and a finisher, all inspired by the monster slayer from the game series. The content will go live on November 28 when Season of the Wish is released. The price has not been announced.
Additionally, Bungie announced the launch of the biggest sale of the year in the Bungie Store on November 24. Everyone who purchases anything will receive a free Darkstar emblem. Bungie also announced that Destiny 2’s Lightfall expansion and other content will be significantly discounted on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam for Black Friday, with the deal period ending on November 28.
The arrival of the Witcher skins and the Bungie Store sale comes shortly after the studio confirmed major internal changes that caused a stir and controversy within the Destiny fanbase.
Bloomberg recently reported that up to 100 people, or about 8% of Bungie’s 1,200 employees, had been laid off. According to the Bloomberg report, Destiny 2’s revenue following the release of the poorly received Lightfall would be 45% lower than the studio’s projections.
As for The Witcher series, CD Projekt is currently developing a new trilogy of Witcher games and a remake of the original Witcher.
