Can you believe we’re coming up on three years since Cyberpunk 2077 released? What a roller coaster it’s been for non-producers at CD Projekt RedWitcher game, and soon you will be able to own a special Ultimate Edition version of the dystopian RPG.
In a recent post on the CDPR website, the developer announced that it would be releasing the Ultimate Edition of Cyberpunk 2077 for Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC. It will be released digitally and physically, both available from December 5.
As for what’s in it, well, you’ll get the OG game (natch), as well as the free 2.0 update which overhauled a lot of things, and the one and only DLC, Phantom Freedom. It’s basically an all-in-one package, if that’s what you’re looking for in time for Christmas.
We can forgive, but can we forget?
Over time, it becomes easier to talk about it Cyberpunk without having to remember the bad old days. However, I’d wager that it’s a pain that many still feel, especially for those of us who tried to play it on console when it released.
Fortunately, things are much different now. The aforementioned 2.0 update was just one of the ways that CD Projekt Red made key changes to the game, improving things along the way. Before that, there was the rather large patch 1.5 rolling out in February 2022.
In short: we are finally here. However, we are in a time where the studio is looking to move on. While we get a Cyberpunk follow-up and a new Witcher saga, CDPR also stated that 2077 no longer receives major updates.
