In November 2020, Alisanne Frew, a Parisian antique dealer specializing in reclaimed fine stones, was alerted by SMS of a rare find: a superb 19thAn 18th century Bordeaux castle was for sale.
Built with the same type of limestone used for the historic center of Bordeaux, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the two-story castle, measuring 46 feet high and 133 feet wide, featured beautiful proportions and refined classic details. The trap ? It had been dismantled thirty years earlier and stacked on pallets in a warehouse in the southwest of France. And the offer was only for its four exterior walls.
