A seven-year-old child has been killed and other children injured in a stabbing at a primary school in Croatia.
The country’s health minister said a teacher was also injured in Friday’s knife attack in Zagreb. The alleged attacker, a 19-year-old and former student, was arrested on the spot, local media reported.
Photos showed police, ambulance staff and forensics teams outside the building.
Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said he was “horrified” by the incident at Precko Elementary School.
Two adults and five children are hospitalized with injuries, according to the Ministry of Health.
Speaking to reporters outside the children’s hospital, Health Minister Irena Hrstic said the attacker entered the school before stabbing staff and students.
